Bwahahaha, I've been looking for an economic way to express my pet peeves of the Zelda fandom for a long time, and I think I've found it.

(First off, I'm a purist, and I try my best not to write fanfiction so indulgent that it destroys canon- I write to show my love for the series, so I do my best not to alter what I love. I understand that most artists write for indulgence of personal fantasies, and while I have to laugh at some of the stuff you guys bend in your favor, I understand that you guys are fun people, and want you to understand that these pieces of mine are in no way meant to directly flame or insult your art, stories, or your personal character- this is all in fun, just to give people a little something to think about, nothing more. ^^)

Expect to see a lot of these, from various characters- and I'll have blanks, too. ;

Poor Dark Link. He was a totally badass monster character until one day someone woke up and thought, 'Hey, Link's evil twin! That's a yaoi cliche'! Let's change his name to Sir Cutesy BishonenMcFucksalot!!!'

Of course if you've even played a Zelda game with him in it, you know that Dark Link is a bad guy. In my mind, he is not even a person- he is a Dark spell, a magical negative, a false demonic entity- he has no true personality of his own (except perhaps in Himekawa's FS comics, but those aren't totally canon), just ingrained orders to eliminate Link- no true form of his own (and no genitailia, of course! Because technically his clothes are a part of him because he's a doppelganger? a mirror image?).

If Dark were to ever get Link into an embrace, he/it would strangle or choke Link to death if he/it could. If Dark could get his mouth over Link's, it would likely be an attempt at soul-sucking.

Turning Dark into a bishonen is an insult to his character, and a inconsistancy in canon. There is a great amount of symbolism behind the Dark Link fight, and all that is corrupted if the two have a sexual relationship (which, as I mentioned, in theory, is impossible). It's about conquering the greed and evils of your human self, and rising as the pure-hearted victor and a better person as a whole, understanding your own weaknesses, etc..

If the relationship is changed to love, the message is more like, love your vices, feed them and let them grow, let them permeate your soul and take away your purity.
